Marin Telecommunications Agency (MTA)
The Marin Telecommunications Agency is a joint powers authority administering the Comcast cable franchise agreement and developing policy related to telecommunications services in Marin County, including cable, broadband, and related services. It was formed in 1998 to negotiate and administer Cable Television for its member agencies.
It is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors composed of representatives from the County of Marin and the cities/towns of Belvedere, Corte Madera, Fairfax, Larkspur, Mill Valley, Ross, San Anselmo, Sausalito, and Tiburon. For more details, see Frequently Asked Questions.

MEDIA ACCESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MAAC)
The MAAC is a 9-member citizen group that advises the MTA Board on the production and broadcast of community access television as well as public, educational, and government (PEG) channels. More about MAAC.
MEDIA CENTER
Under the terms of the TV cable franchise entered into with with Comcast in 2006, the MTA has capital funds and a transition grant available to support a nonprofit Media Center. Capital funding is available to support studio facilities, studio related equipment and distributed programming production that support public, education and government (PEG). The transition grant is not restricted to capital funding. The Community Media Center of Marin, a newly formed not for profit with a 15-member Board of Directors has been established to set policy and oversee the production of programming that reflects community diversity in providing public access for the community, education and government.
